The regality of this leek extends far past its name. Upright plants have very straight long, slender shafts with no hilling necessary. A subtle, mild leek flavor makes King Richard a culinary delight. This strain has been bred for winter–hardiness and will withstand mild frost. Leeks keep well in root storage and can be chopped and frozen for easy winter meals as well.
