Brassica oleracea
100 seeds
Maturity: 75 days from transplant

Certified organic seed from Seed Revolution Now in San Mateo, California.

Solstice was originally a breeding project at Oregon State University but was then taken over by the incredible organic breeder, Jonathan Spero of Lupine Knoll Farm who brought us this superior open-pollinated variety.

Vigorous 18-24" wide plants will produce mature crowns nearly two weeks sooner than other varieties. Heads have a blue-green tint and are consistent at 4-6" diameter, growing high up on the stalk for easier harvest. Bigger curds on the heads and chunky side shoots have made this a favorite on the farm. We keep Waltham 29 for the colder months and can rely on Solstice for our main, mid-summer harvest with piles of side shoots coming after. Heads have a 7-10 day harvest window and side shoots will produce for up to four weeks afterwards. Exceptional flavor, freezes well.
