Coreopsis tinctoria
200 seeds
Maturity: 90 days

Plains Coreopsis is North American native that has now naturalized throughout much of the United States. Plants grow to 1-2′ with bright green ferny foliage on branching stems are topped with 1-2" single yellow daisy-like flowers with dark maroon centers. Flowers will keep producing as fast as you can pick them, right up until frost, and plants don't mind a wet soil. A sacred medicinal and dye plant to Native Americans, this strain is often called "dyers coreopsis". Stems and flowers can create a full palette of yellow, green, orange, brown, and even black with different mordants. Dried blooms can be used for projects or tea in the winter months. Great pollinator attractor, often found in butterfly gardens, and is an lovely bouquet filler. Known to be deer resistant. Will self-seed readily.
