A classic red beet originally selected for earliness in 1911. Glossy dark green leaves with red veins come up quickly in cool soil and are enjoyed on their own reaching upwards of 12" tall. Enjoy a first harvest of greens and baby maroon roots at 2". Make space for flattened globe roots and a final harvest of full sized 3-5" wide beets that store well for winter. Beautiful deep color that holds well when canned.
