Phacelia tanacetifolia
200 seeds
Maturity: 80 days
Not edible
Certified organic seed grown by Thompson Creek Farm in Newman Lake, Washington.
Our first non-edible in the Foundroot catalog and folks, it's a really good one. Phacelia, Fiddleneck, Purple Tansy, Bienenfreund, Bee's Friend, whatever you want to call it, it's your ticket to feeding those bees... or every bee in the borough. Gorgeous fiddlehead-like whirls of light lavender colored flowers have extra long filaments and lacy foliage for a striking look. Bees will come in droves and flowers can bloom for up to two months if started early. If you dare to cut them down, Bee's Friend is often grown as an annual cover crop and is known for being a long lasting cut flower. Ethereal.
Flower seeds tend to have lower germination rates than vegetable seeds, please plan accordingly.
