These early heirloom cantaloupes were introduced by the University of Minnesota in 1948. Measuring just 4 inches across, their small size doesn’t affect the sweet orange flesh. Compact 3-4 foot vines can be heavy producers in a good hot summer, even in our northern climate. Minnesota Midget is one of our most challenging plants to grow in northern gardens and is not friendly for beginners. Must be grown in a hoop or green house to produce reliably.
