Brassica oleracea 100 seeds Maturity: 90 days from transplant
A classic heirloom, Long Island was introduced in the 1890's and has remained one of the most important commercial varieties ever since. The semi-dwarf plants are self-supporting at 20-24" high and produce heave yields of delicious 1-2" sprouts. Top clusters of leaves along with 1/3 of the bottom leaves from the soil need to be removed once sprouts begin to form to encourage growth and can be enjoyed like cabbage with similar flavor. Requires a long season but will tolerate some frost to reach maturity.
