Vibrant purple heads are a bright addition to any home garden. The compact plants with short stems produce very solid, dense round heads weighing 3-5 pounds, generally smaller than our other cabbage varieties for a more manageable size. Heads grow on longer stems and sit higher on the plant, making it naturally more slug resistant. This variety stands well and is also one of the best for storage. Red Acre is a beautiful addition to summer salads or sauerkraut. Stores well for winter.
