Pisum sativum
80 seeds
Maturity: 58 days

The sweetest and earliest of snap peas, Sugar Ann was bred by Calvin Lamborn of Twin Falls, Idaho, named for one of his daughters, and won the 1983 Silver AAS for good reason.  A compact plant that works well in home gardens, but is prolific enough to be loved by commercial growers as well. Plump 2-3" pods are sweet and juicy, best harvested when pods fill out but are still shiny and bright green.   Not so dwarf vines reach 5' high in Alaska's midnight sun.

FROM THE FARMERS

Pretty much everyone's favorite and a must have in all Alaskan gardens. Sugarsnap peas have become the fruit of the north and are a true summer treat eaten raw right off the vine out in our farm field. We can't hold on to these at market. We have to stake these just like all our other peas even though they are supposedly a dwarf. They will produce a serious bounty for 3+ weeks if temperatures stay cool enough which helps them stay sweet as well. Plant early for sure and then midsummer for a second crop in the fall.

Legumes need to be inoculated to fix nitrogen and have viable yields. If you haven't inoculated your seeds before and/or haven't grown legumes in the soil you'll be growing them in this year, we recommend you use this product
