Alaska Pure Sea Salt is made in Sitka, Alaska by Jim and Darcy Michener In 2007, they proudly produced North America’s first flake sea salt using only water from Sitka Sound with no additives or added chemicals.
This salt is made by smoking Alaska Pure salt flakes over burning Alder wood. Nothing else is added. The Alder tree is native to the coastal rainforest of the Pacific Northwest. For generations, Alder has been used by Alaskans as the preferred wood for preserving food and smoking salmon. This salt has a “just off the grill” flavor. It’s delicious on salmon, red meat, chicken, pork, and veggies. Try it on the rim of your next Bloody Mary.
