Bill Reynolds brought us this cosmic cross between Raven and Black Beauty zucchini and it has set the standard for zucchini in our gardens. Harvest a bounty of glossy dark green fruit with a creamy interior at 8-10" for best flavor. Fruit holds well on the vine and in the fridge. Open 2-3' bush plant habit and smooth stalks provide painless picking and less scarring to fruit. Does well under stress and dry conditions, bountiful producer in a warm summer. We grow ours outside without cover with no issues in our Zone 4a/5b but will benefit from covering in cooler zones.
This seed is increasingly difficult to get and the main grower had a crop failure. We feel grateful to have some of Steve Peters' limited stock.
Zucchini need to be hand pollinated if grown without insects present such as inside a hoop house or greenhouse.
