Brassica oleracea
100 seeds
Maturity: 70 days from transplant

An exquisite French heirloom dating back to 1885, Perfection Savoy matches its elegance with taste and vigor to this day. Crumpled leaves compile dense 7-9” globe drumheads on 6-8” stems, with nice outer leaves that are worth saving space for in the garden bed. A key ingredient in traditional minestrone soup, Perfection Savoy is tastier than other cabbages with a mild sweetness. Clean heads of damaged leaves for good winter storage.

From the Farmers

Most farmers break ground with the intention of growing in their new dirt the next season. Not us. We broke ground, threw our seeds in, and said a prayer. Guess what we grew? Pounds and pounds of sweet, juicy, firm headed cabbage. This cabbage. No watering system, tons of weeds, and not nearly enough care still resulted in a massive crop. This is the cabbage you want for cabbage rolls and is our favorite for making sauerkraut. We mix it 50/50 with the Early Jersey Wakefield and it stores in the refrigerator for up to one year. We have trouble selling Perfection Savoy fresh at market because they are too big, but for a home gardener, they seriously pay their rent.
